1. Professional category: professional and press photographers, of legal age, and any nationality.
2. Citizen category: amateur photographers of legal age, of any nationality, who have their residence in the Valencian
Community.
3. Winners of the immediately previous edition of this contest won’t be allowed to participate.
4. Technical specifications for entries.
- The photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material, never published before, and taken by the contest
participant.
- Colour and black-and-white photographs are accepted, free technique. Reproductions will not be accepted.
- The printed work will be presented on a passe-partout or any other rigid frame.
- Work sides must be a minimum of 30 cm. and a maximum of 75 cm., either vertical or horizontal.
- All Works must be accompanied of a CDRom, DVD or any other technical support. All digital files must meet the following
requirements: JPEG (.jpg), tiff or bmp format and high resolution.
- Photographs must have been taken in 2007.
- Photographs must not have been awarded with any prizes at the moment of the entry.
- On the professional category, each entrant may submit a maximum of three photographs, either single works or a “photo
store” of 3 related photos.
- On the citizen category, each entrant may submit just one photograph.
5. The images must foster understanding of the objective realities of the South, show absolute respect for the dignity of
the individuals and people, highlighting values such as justice, solidarity and responsibility, and try to show the role of women
as actors of development in structurally impoverished countries.
6. The submitted photographs must avoid idyllic, catastrophic, discriminatory and widespreading messages and images,
expressing superiority of some countries over others, or showing people as objects of compassion and not as partners working
together for development.
7. Photographs, without signing, will be accompanied obligatorily of:
a) The corresponding triple bulletin of inscription (See lower side of leaflet).
b) Accreditation of not incurring any of the circumstances set out in Article 13.2 of the Law 38/2003 of November 17, General
Grants, held by responsible declaration or by any means set out in Article 13.7 of that Act
c) Authorization for the Development Co-operation and Solidarity Directorate to get directly through telematic certificates, the
accreditation of compliance with tax and Social Security obligations.
d) Professional Category: Sworn declaration giving assurance that the entrant is a professional or press photographer, that
the photograph has been taken in 2007 with the intention of being published and that the photograph hasn’t been awarded with
any prizes at the moment of the entry to the present contest.
e) Citizen Category: Original or attested copy of the Municipal Census saying that the entrant lives in the Valencian Community,
in the case that the address on the IDN or passport is a different one, and a sworn declaration giving assurance that the
photograph has been taken in 2007 and it hasn’t been awarded with any prizes at the moment of the entry to the present contest.

8. All submitted photographs and documentation must be presented or mailed to the Register of the Development Co-operation
and Solidarity Directorate (Generalitat Valenciana) - plaza de San Nicolás nº 2; CP 46001-Valencia.
9. All entries must be submitted and received by June 30, 2009.
10. The submitted images that meet the requirements requested will be exhibited on the date and place to be communicated
publicly. The audience at the exhibition will vote the photographs that will be evaluated by the jury.
11. Valencian Generalitat reserves the right to use and exhibit all awarded photographs, which will remain property of the
Development Co-operation and Solidarity Directorate.
12. Not awarded photographs will be able to be collected from the headquarters of the Development Co-operation and Solidarity
Directorate, the two following months alter the exhibition closing day.
13. By entering the competition, the participant fully accepts the contest rules.
